Test Review for 1/26

The test will be on Thursday the 26th. The review sheet for the test will be given out on Monday the 23rd. It has a place on it for the parent to sign it and make sure that your parents acknowledge that they saw the review and it has been completed. Remember if the review is completed in its entirety and brought in on the day of the test, 10 percent will be added to the test. For example if the student gets an B on the test they will have an A when the test grade is calculated :)

As a class we split up into groups and quickly find these three things about the following Pharoahs:


  • A little bit about their life
  • Their contributions to Egyptian society
  • A photo or rendering of the Pharaoh if possible.

Egytian Heiroglyphics and Heretic Writing

 We defined the word Heretic- The ancient Egyptian writing of abridged( Shortened) hieroglyphics used by priests

Writing in Hieroglyphics   

1.  Write one sentence about what you know of Ancient Egypt. Translate it into hieroglyphics.
2.  Working with your assigned partner you will trade papers and decipher the hieroglyphics back into English.
3. When finished with your work and after showing me you will answer the following questions with your partner based on your experience in using the Egyptian writing system.

Honoring Martin Luther King Jr. and the Civil Rights Movement

In class we read about Martin Luther King Jr and completed the crossword puzzle that was with the reading. We also watched the documentary Martin Luther King Jr The Man and the Dream. Taking notes while we watch the movie which entailed the action of this Nobel Prize winning activist.
